what at bloomestate

What is available at bloomestate?

Not quite a hotel, not really a bed and breakfast; bloomestate is the sort of small individually-owned lodging that defies categorization. Anyone who makes the effort will be amply rewarded by the mellow atmosphere and the well-composed modernist decor. Perfectly matched for small meetings.

The 2.5 hectares of modern architectural gardens have green lawns, indigenous plants and trees and a natural lily filled pond with a large wooden sundeck. Whimsically situated near the pond is the warm outside Jacuzzi under a gazebo. The abundant birdlife in the garden and near the pond is not  just for the real ornithologists. At the large heated saltwaterpool you can lay back on the loungers  underneath cool triangel individual shades, comfortable enough to think over your impressions. Alternatively try the cosy sitting areas to read a book or just doze in the South African sun.

bloomestate-sitloungeOutside the tasteful Sunlounge you will find a large covered, north- facing terrace, which gives you warm sun in winter and cool shade in summer. Inside you find a collection of recent international and South African magazines to read, boardgames to play and a DVD library to choose from. Coffee- and tea facilities are always available and on request a lunch or small diner platter can be served on the terrace.  Mails can be checked in the  computercorner, however there is also wireless internet access all over bloomestate, although we wouldn't advise to use your laptop, I-pod or Blackberry in the Jaccuzzi.

Cool drinks are day and night on hand in the funky Moonbar, where you find a choice of beers, wines and spirits. Make a choice from the extensive wine list with wines from the local Robertson Wine valley and enjoy your sundowner or nightcap on the terrace with views over the garden and the mountains. Take a stroll in the bush surrounding the pond or in the citrus orchard with 150 citrus trees. Spoil yourself with a pampering massage or beauty treatment or browse around in the trendy shop of the Rain products next door. You are 24 hours welcome to the reception desk, where Carla and Maarten can help you with suggestions and tips for exploring the area, as well as maps, brochures, binoculars to take with you on your day- or round trip.

Enough to see and to do, but don't forget...bloomestate is a retreat... enjoy the space, the calm, and the inspiration of bloomestate!
